Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) is in the process of moving from 39 separate sites throughout Dublin city to one amalgamated campus at Grangegorman in Dublin’s north inner city.

With 20,000 students, the institute accounts for close to 10 per cent of all students in higher education in Ireland.
The first 1,000 students moved to the campus, which is still under construction, in September 2014 and about 10,000 are due to be attending by 2017, with the remainder expected to be there by 2020.

The campus accommodation is being built in three phases, with the first phase of about 700 bed-spaces due for completion in September 2018..

By combining a mixture of Komfort’s Single and Double Glazed Frameless Partitioning Systems, Allied Workspace has helped to create a modern and bright learning establishment for both administrative personnel and students alike for DIT’s new Research Hub facility.

Acoustics were pivotal to the project with the single glazed screens having an acoustic performance rating of 38dB(Rw) and double glazed achieving 48dB(Rw).

Allied has extensive experience of project delivery within the Irish education sector. Projects include UCD O’Brien Centre for Science, CIT School of Architecture, Monaghan Education Campus, UCD Health Sciences Complex, Belfast Metropolitan College and Limerick Institute of Technology in addition to Queen’s University Belfast’s Anatomy and CEM buildings
