‘Kavanagh Court’, the Gardiner Street Student Residence is one of the largest new student accommodations in Dublin with 500 en suite rooms. The overall building comprised of a gross floor area of approximately 17,000m2 incorporating a seven story building (six story plus setback level) all within a perimeter block around a central landscaped courtyard over a part basement.

The project comprised of 88 three to seven bedroom cluster flats, all of which contain fully equipped kitchens, individual study areas within each bedroom and en-suite bathrooms.

The development is within walking distance of both Trinity College and the DIT Bolton Street Campus, the students of which will be the primary tenants of the facility. It will also be located a short distance from a stop on the new Luas Cross City line

Allied was awarded the contract to supply fire rated glazed partitioning for the management suite in the foyer of the Gardiner Street student residence as well as fire rated doors and atrium glazing in each of the building’s four stair cores and lift areas.

The sleek fire rated system offers both integrity, insulation and a high level of security

The firescreens incorporated as atrium barriers and had to cater for the increased load requirements for an educational establishment.
